My family and I lived in Tokyo in 2001 through 2002. Every weekend we visited the Ginza where mothers and daughters would wear Kimonos and A haori (羽織) traditional Japanese jacket worn over a kimono as they shopped. This quilt was inspired by some of the Kimonos we marveled upon.
